dillon's surgery

Dillon had his tonsils and adnoids out yesterday at the children's hospital. Everything went really well so hopefully our days of strep throat will be reduced. School is going well for both of them and just ok for me! Dillon got his yellow belt in karate and Hope has been cheering for little football teams, so we have very little spare time! I can't believe it's already October!

Back to School!

Well, today was the 1st day of school for my kids and my last day of nothing becasue I start on Monday. The child who never wanted school to end last year(Hope) is very unhappy about her new class. She doesn't know anybody and she doesn't like the long term sub she has because her new teacher just had a baby and is out on maternity leave!! It's not any fun!!! Dillon didn't want to start but now he thinks it may be a pretty good year - and he has a cool new classroom in the brand new building!! Here's the picture - don't they look so grown-up?!?!?!?

Not much

Well, I am back from my surgery. Although technically I was only gone one day, I certainly felt like it lasted about 2 weeks! I am doing better now and not having pain when I eat anymore, so that's a definite plus. We are starting to get busy as school starts next week(yea!!!). Hope is cheering for football and has practice twice a week, even in 104 degree temps b/c it's very important that 6 year olds are outstanding cheerleaders(or so they think) and Dillon is getting ready to test for his yellow belt in karate on Sept.8! I am trying to get my lessons and room ready for preschool to start and also helping direct the youth choir at church. Brian is trying not to have a heat stroke while he works outside! Hope wrote her first song yesterday and sang it for us after she wrote the lyrics down - she loves to sing and be on stage and in front of people. Her brother kindly told her that she spelled most of the words wrong(what are older brothers for anyway?). Once again, please forgive all grammatical errors in this writing. I will try to post some 1st day of school pictures next week after school starts.

just life

I haven't written in a while because although a lot has been going on I don't like to write about myself so that leaves not much going on!! So, to sum it up , I had a concussion and a few other things but I am fine now. So, on to other people. Not really much to say.... the kids have either allergies or a cold so everyone coughs and wipes their noses a hundred times a day! Just a few weeks of school left then it's summer vacation, yea....I think. bye. Oh, here's Easter pictures~ Hope took the picture of Brian and I.

Dillon's update

After a busy 2 days of appts here are some updates on Dillon: pacemaker is working great and should not need any work done on it for at least 5 more years!! Definitely good news!! Cardiology appt went well overall. He seems to be doing well on his medicine and they are not going to change anything right now. I must admit I was a little disappointed because after several years of no change in his heart measurements, I was beginning to hope that it would remain the same forever but this time there was an increase in the thickness of his septum muscle. They didn't see it as a big problem right now so we will just go on and continue praying for complete healing. Thanks for everyone's prayers. He is most unhappy about having to wear a monitor for 24 hours(he has to do this once a year), the wires bother him and it is no fun!! Here's a picture that he said he was not going to smile for because he wasn't happy!! I'm sure he'll be happier by morning. bye..........

Too nice

It's been too nice outside to sit inside in front of a computer. So, this has not been updated in a while! We have just been outside all the time playing-that's our life right now. Oh yea, we also go to work, school, and church. (Not to forget cheerleading and golf also!) Anyway, still trying to recover from the time change. The kids can't go to sleep when the sun is still out and definately don't want to get up when it's dark outside! We will be having a busy school break - Sunday afternoon we will go see a hockey game then Monday and Tuesday Dillon will have heart check-ups in Atlanta. I will try to post how things go with the check-ups next week sometime. Good Night!!!
