just life

I haven't written in a while because although a lot has been going on I don't like to write about myself so that leaves not much going on!! So, to sum it up , I had a concussion and a few other things but I am fine now. So, on to other people. Not really much to say.... the kids have either allergies or a cold so everyone coughs and wipes their noses a hundred times a day! Just a few weeks of school left then it's summer vacation, yea....I think. bye. Oh, here's Easter pictures~ Hope took the picture of Brian and I.

Dillon's update

After a busy 2 days of appts here are some updates on Dillon: pacemaker is working great and should not need any work done on it for at least 5 more years!! Definitely good news!! Cardiology appt went well overall. He seems to be doing well on his medicine and they are not going to change anything right now. I must admit I was a little disappointed because after several years of no change in his heart measurements, I was beginning to hope that it would remain the same forever but this time there was an increase in the thickness of his septum muscle. They didn't see it as a big problem right now so we will just go on and continue praying for complete healing. Thanks for everyone's prayers. He is most unhappy about having to wear a monitor for 24 hours(he has to do this once a year), the wires bother him and it is no fun!! Here's a picture that he said he was not going to smile for because he wasn't happy!! I'm sure he'll be happier by morning. bye..........

Too nice

It's been too nice outside to sit inside in front of a computer. So, this has not been updated in a while! We have just been outside all the time playing-that's our life right now. Oh yea, we also go to work, school, and church. (Not to forget cheerleading and golf also!) Anyway, still trying to recover from the time change. The kids can't go to sleep when the sun is still out and definately don't want to get up when it's dark outside! We will be having a busy school break - Sunday afternoon we will go see a hockey game then Monday and Tuesday Dillon will have heart check-ups in Atlanta. I will try to post how things go with the check-ups next week sometime. Good Night!!!

fun trips

On Saturday we joined the Children's Healthcare's heart group to celebrate Congenital Heart Defect Awareness week in Georgia. After a program in the ballroom(where they convinced my son he should go to heart camp!!!he's so little to go away to camp but I guess it would be nice for him to go somewhere that he's not different from everyone else.....i don't know if i can let him go on not.....definately open to advice!!)we toured the Georgia aquarium. It had some amazing exhibits and some really stinky ones also(kind of a fishy smell!). The tropical fish almost made me want to go scuba diving...except it's underwater! Anyway, here's some pictures...one is the way we like to pretend the trip went(don't they look happy?)and the other is the way it really went(maybe she's not that happy. You haven't really lived until you have held a 60 pound 7 year old up so he can see over adults and then carried a 46 pound 5 year around the whole aquarium!!

some Hockey

For some unknown reason my son who couldn't hurt an ant (literally, we have to usher them out if they get into the house instead of stepping on them!) has a love for the not so gentle sport of Hockey. It really boggles the mind but whatever! Anyway, last Friday was a big treat for him becasue he got an invite from the goalie for the Atlanta Thrashers to be his guest at their game with some other children who are heart patients. He got to live it up big time since they provided us with dinner, we sat in a suite and got shirts and other items which he signed after the game when they got to go to the locker room!! He had a blast but I'm not so sure about Hope... she said can she never go again....... maybe she didn't really like it? So, we are just living the regular life going to school, work, etc except freezing when we go outside!! It's not suppose to be in the 30's in Georgia, what are the weather men thinking?

Quick Update!

Although it's not as informative as the Egleston clinic~ Dillon's pacemaker check-up that he gets over the phone went well. The technician said that his pacemaker is working properly and his heartrate sounded nice and steady! We will take any good news offered!

Days are crawling by!!

Today marks the 16th day of Christmas Break and we are more than ready for life to go back to normal. It's raining outside and the kids feel they have run out of anything interesting to do, I agree. Thankfully school starts back on Monday. I am really impressed with anyone who homeschools -I do not have that kind of patience! January is a pretty boring month anyway since Christmas is over and Spring is still a long way away. Hopefully it will be an early spring..........
